Hello - I am Helen
My ambition is to combine my lived experience with my professional life in the hope that I could make a difference to others who find themselves navigating neurodivergent family life, like me.

If my experience has taught me anything, it is that I needed to be fulfilled and happy as Helen, not just as the role of a parent. This ensured not only did I have the capacity to make the parenting transition required, it also gives me the daily energy needed to turn it into a way of life.

I now run, with my co-founder Clare, our social business - TastingColours - supporting many people to build what is technically called 'mental capital'. Mental capital is what's needed to increase our capacity to positively interact with the complexities of the world around us. This in turn reduces the energy cost of our everyday drama, leaving more energy for us to invest in ourselves and others, enabling us to move to thriving.

Our approach
Using our own evaluated model we work one to one, over 6 weeks, focusing on the key elements that positively impact our mental capital:

-
Sense of self and identity - the foundations of who we are on which everything is built

-
Purpose - the lighthouse of life. The ‘thing’ that is bigger than us, that gives us reason to continue during the hard times
-
Motivation to change - the amount of energy we need to get us started

-
Direction - a plan, ideas that initiate our change
-
Resources - the practical tools to create new ways of thinking to sustain the changes
-
Energy - the motivation needed to sustain the changes
